Whilst lying in bed trying to get over my cold i decided to watch 'The Basketball Diaries'. Mainly because i love Leonardo DiCaprio (who doesn't) and i hadn't seen this before. I had no idea how hard hitting this film would be. Based on the true story of Jim Carroll who published the diaries that he kept between the ages of twelve and sixteen - detailing his sexual experiences, high
school basketball career, and his addiction to heroin, which began when
he was 13.
If you ever get the chance to watch this film, then i would take it. It may be difficult to watch in some parts but it is one of the most honest and truthful films i have seen. I think i might have to read the books now.
